Look at the chest on this dog - he's all legs and lungs!  We were bowled over when we saw the posed photo above.  You can see why Stupe has contributed to so many good Patches.

After first passing through a couple of other hands (we still aren't exactly sure who bred him), Stupe was owned by Bo Davidson in southwestern Ohio, where he gained a reputation as a field performer and a fine sire of pups.  In February 1987, G.R. Dinius and Clyde LeFevre bought him from Bo, and he continued his stud career at the Oak Groves kennel in Michigan, where he lived until his death in 1991.

Pennyroyal Patch Casey/Stupe can be found in the third or fourth generation, up to three times, in all of BEB's present dogs.  Stupe and Gunsmoke (Bo's Patch Gunsmoke) are the two primary male ancestors in BEB's current breeding program.
