Jack Pach Brumbaugh

January 13, 2005

sire: FC Nealmont Smokin Patch Speck (pedigree, 10KB PDF)
dam: Dot Patch Brumbaugh, #HM82032201
breeder: Don Brumbaugh, Saxton PA
owner: Don Brumbaugh, Saxton PA

4-generation pedigree  (10KB PDF)

Jack was chosen to be the stud for Blanche's first litter of pups, after Sugar Ridge Buckeye Patch (the intended stud) was killed in late 2004. Jack's sire, FC Speck, is also his maternal grandfather, as his dam Dot was bred back to her own sire. Speck is owned by Jim Campbell here in Tyrone, who has the most trialing experience of any of the local Patch breeders, and more than one FC to show for his efforts. Speck is littermate to Shildt's Rocky Patch and Shildt's Lacey Patch, who both show up in several of BEB's pedigrees. Dot's dam is another champion dog of Jim's, FC Camp-Bell Patch Shoney, whose sire is Bo's Patch Gunsmoke.

John's decision to use Jack as stud comes not only from the dog's fine conformation and pedigree, but also by way of a recommendation from Jim, who has spent more time running the young male, and is more familiar with his traits and style. John has run enough hounds with Jim to value his opinion highly.

Jim has given us this evaluation of Jack:

  • A good jump dog
  • Medium-fast speed
  • Chop mouth bark
  • Good line control
  • A strong driver
  • Hard hunter, hunts all day with enthusiasm.
